Greek Object and Grapes

The recipes in this menu are collected from various parts of Greece. Rarely, you will find in a restaurant such an extensive compilation of culinary treasures.

The Houston Well City Initiative recommends Alexander's Greek Restaurant at 3055 Sage as a healthy dining out choice in Houston. Alexander's Signature Dish Mixed Grill - Incredible combination of the best dishes in this menu. Half a rack of Colorado Mountain lamb spiced with fresh rosemary, mint leaves, garlic, and oregano. Three colossal grilled shrimp and one grilled quail. Served with sautéed pearl onions in wine and sun-dried tomato sauce. $39 
 
PELAGOS SEAFOOD COMBINATION
Oceanic treat for seafood lovers. Combination of four (4) jumbo mussels, two (2) jumbo grilled shrimp, two (2) divers' select scallops, and the freshest snapper filet, sautéed calamari, and artichokes in lemon butter and wine sauce.

SKOPELOS' BEST - Fresh shrimp, scallops and kalamari sautéed in garlic lemon butter wine sauce. Served with artichoke hearts and scallions. Garnished with capers and fresh parsley. $15

COLD APPETIZERS AND DIPS
FAVA DIP - Greek-style puree made with fava beans, garlic, extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice. Topped with feta cheese and capers. Served with homemade bread. $7 
TARAMA DIP - Red caviar whipped with lemon juice and olive oil. Served with homemade bread. Originating in Greece, this traditional fisherman's favorite is known in England as Botargo. $8 
TZATZIKI - Legend has it this special Greek yogurt and cucumber dip topped with fresh dill was brought to Greece by soldiers from the far East region of Alexander the Great's empire. Served with homemade bread. $7 
ROASTED EGGPLANT SALAD - Chopped roasted eggplant mixed with onions, roasted garlic, fresh tomatoes, parsley and fresh squeezed lemon.. $7 
SMOKED SALMON - Slices of smoked salmon stuffed with caviar spread (Tarama) served with pan-seared Cypriot Haloumi cheese, red aromatic tomatoes and cucumbers. $14 

GREEK FEAST - (for two) An assortment of Greek delicacies arranged with mouth-watering tyropita, spanikopita, keftethes, dolmathes, feta cheese, tarama and kalamata olives. Garnished with tomatoes and cucumbers.

AVGOLEMONO SOUPA -  A simple Greek soup of chicken broth with orzo and chicken is made special by the last minute addition of eggs to enrich and thicken as well as lemon juice to give sharpness. The result is both refreshing and nourishing.

Olive oil, amongst its many other attributes, was also regarded as an aphrodisiac, hence the old adage "fae lathi k'ela vrathi" Delivered in a suggestive way, it means, "eat olive oil and come for the night."

The life in Greece flourishes in the high mountains that rise above the blue Aegean and the small islands that speckle the seas of the country. With over 1,000 islands and the largest number of fishing vessels in the European Union, Greece is a country to great sea-faring tradition. Seafood has always been a main staple on the dinner tables in the homes of Greece.
This restaurant is committed to the freshest seafood you can find in town. Due to seasonality of the seafood some items might not always be available.
